Here's a Taste of What We Have Planned
for Ya'll

It's only a start, but more is coming!

Welcome to the "Reunion at the Cradle" webpage!  The first Southern-hosted National Forest Service Retirees Reunion will held on September 24 to 28, 2018 in Asheville, NC.

The Southern Forest Service Retirees Association (SFSRA) is thrilled to host the Forest Service Retirees and help them experience the unique ties of our Forests to the Southern Appalachians.

This web page is intended to be a helpful and growing source of information for Reunion Registration, Crown Plaza lodging Reservations, travel and overall information about the Reunion Program and Committees.

As this web page evolves, we hope to share with you more information about the history, resources and culture of the Southern Appalachians, the Cradle of Forestry, Pisgah National Forest, the Biltmore Estate, Asheville and the unique natural resources of one of the most biologically diverse regions of the nation.

Download the guide for planning your tripThe 2018 Reunion in Asheville derives its 501(c) 3 non-profit status from the National Museum of Forest Service History.   The Museum recently reached another milestone with the ceremonial ribbon cutting on July 20, 2017.  Executive Director, Lisa Tate sends this article highlighting the official opening of the Ranger Cabin Visitor Center and the Forest Discovery Trail.

We are thrilled for this recent achievement and are looking forward to many more Museum successes at the site and across the country.
